About me
I am a 51 year old white female counsellor, registered with BACP and a member of the Person Centred Association. My practice is based in Woodford, East London. I do not consider myself religious but I am accepting of others’ beliefs.
I hold a Diploma in person-centred counselling from Metanoia Institute and have undertaken placements at Mind in Waltham Forest (East London) and at the University of East London. Since qualification in 2017 I have worked part-time in private practice, whilst also working part-time in an unrelated field.
I am committed to providing counselling as affordably as possible and working in a person-centred and non-judgmental way. I have benefitted from undertaking counselling myself which is why I entered training.
I have experience in a broad range of issues and continually develop my skills and knowledge via workshops and other training opportunities. I am happy to work on a time-limited basis or longer term.
In addition to my Diploma I have undertaken further training and workshops in group work; pre-therapy in psychiatric settings; fantasies and trauma; working with sight-loss; play therapy; embodied therapy; working with people withdrawing from prescribed psychiatric medication; person centred approaches to trauma and working creatively with trauma.
Whilst my experience is broad, the majority of the clients I have worked with have been struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, worries and general unhappiness.
My counselling room is well ventilated for face to face work. I do not generally offer online or telephone counselling, except for ocassional sessions with existing clients, where necessary.
